Davenport, Iowa — According to a new survey, Congressman Randy Feenstra of Hull holds a commanding lead over other Iowa Republicans who are running for the Republican nomination for Governor of the state.
Polling conducted by Victory Enterprises indicates Feenstra has a 32.4 percent lead over his nearest competitor. Victory staff tell us Feenstra’s lead here in his home (4th) Congressional District remains strong, at 35 percent, and he maintains strong leads the other districts as well. In District 1 in southeast Iowa, they say his lead is 31 percent. In District 2, which is the northeast part of the state, it’s 26 percent, and in District 3, which is southern and central Iowa, it’s 25 percent.
The survey shows that 41.2 percent of likely voters would vote for Feenstra for the nomination. Adam Steen and Zach Lahn are almost tied at 8.8 and 8.2 percent, respectively. Brad Sherman and Eddie Andrews are nearly tied as well, at 4.8 and 4.6 percent. Feenstra’s nearest “competitor” is actually those who said they were “undecided.” They tell us 31.2 percent of responders put themselves in that category.
Victory Enterprises tells us that the survey was conducted among likely Republican primary voters in Iowa. 500 interviews were completed via live operator from April 14 -15 among wireless numbers and landlines. The margin of error for the full sample is +/- 4.4 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
