Sheldon Firefighters Called To Truck Fire On Old 60 South

Sheldon, Iowa — A semi-truck was damaged in a fire on Monday, June 8, 2020, in Sheldon.

According to Sheldon Assistant Fire Chief Brad Hindt, about 2:40 p.m., the Sheldon Fire Company was called to the report of a semi-truck on fire in the 1700 block of South Second Avenue — Business 60, near the Maintainer plant.

The assistant chief says the fire department saw a smoking semi-tractor when they arrived on-scene. He says the fire had already been put out by bystanders. But he says firefighters cooled the engine area of the truck tractor.

No injuries were reported.
