Royal, Iowa — A Sutherland woman’s car and a Royal man’s vehicle were damaged in an accident in Royal on Wednesday, November 30th.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:38 am on Wednesday, 32-year-old Elisha Orthmann of Sutherland was driving a 1994 Buick Regal eastbound on 400th Street, approaching 1st Avenue, which leads into Royal. Twenty-eight-year-old Douglas Albert of Royal was driving a 2008 Buick Enclave northbound on 1st Avenue. According to the report, Albert attempted to stop, and slid through the stop sign due to icy road conditions and struck Orthmann.
The Regal received $1,500 damage; the Enclave received $3,000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
