Sioux County, Iowa — An Ireton teen escaped injury after his vehicle rolled near Hudson, South Dakota on Friday, November 11th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 6:38 pm on Friday, 17-year-old Dean Ymker of Ireton was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 westbound on 360th Street, three miles east of Hudson, South Dakota. According to the report, when Ymker entered a curve, he lost control of the vehicle, entered the north ditch and rolled.
The Pontiac received $7,000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
Two semi-tractors were damaged in an accident at the intersection of Highway 60 and Jackson Avenue, south of Orange City on Thursday, November 10th.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 4:08 pm on Thursday, 30-year-old Brett Keunen of Alton was driving a 2001 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a side dump trailer northbound on Jackson Avenue, and stopped at the stop sign at Highway 60, four miles south of Orange City. Sixty-four-year-old Lois Hassenzahl of Clayton, Michigan was driving a 2015 Volvo semi-tractor pulling a freight trailer northbound on Highway 60. According to the report, Keunen began driving northbound across Highway 60 where he was struck by Hassenzahl.
The Peterbilt received $5,000 damage; the Volvo received $8,000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
An Orange City woman escaped injury after hitting a deer on Thursday, November 10th near Alton.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office states that at about 6:32 am on Thursday, 23-year-old Kristen Korver of Orange City was driving a 2008 Honda Accord northbound on Highway 60, three miles northeast of Alton. The report continues that Korver struck a deer on the roadway.
The Honda received $5,000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
