Paullina Man Faces Felony Charge After Weekend Incident

Paullina, Iowa — A weekend argument between a Paullina couple has reportedly culminated in a felony charge against a 23-year-old Paullina man.

Court records indicate Aaron Joseph Triplett of Paullina was charged following the altercation with his live-in girlfriend. As the argument escalated, court records say Triplett reportedly placed a hand around the alleged victim’s throat, pushing her back against a wall and continuing the pressure until she reportedly had trouble breathing. He is accused of striking the woman when she attempted to break free.

Triplett was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air or Blood Flow Causing Injury, which is a Class D Felony.

Online court records indicate that Magistrate Dan Pluim issued a No-Contact Order as a result of the incident, forbidding Triplett from having contact with his alleged victim.
