Hull, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman was taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a two-vehicle accident in Hull Friday morning.
According to a report from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened about 7:00 Friday morning at the intersection of Highway 18 and Division Street in Hull. According to the report, a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 55-year-old Dora Esquivel of Rock Valley was eastbound on Highway 18, and a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by 41-year-old Marianne Bleeker of Hull was northbound on Division Street. Authorities say Bleeker entered the intersection and the two vehicles collided.
Deputies say Esquivel was transported to the Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley for treatment of minor injuries.
Authorities estimate the damage to Esquivel’s Mercury at about $5-thousand, with an estimated $10-thousand damage to Bleeker’s pickup.
Bleeker was reportedly cited for failing to obey/yield from a stop sign.
Sioux County deputies were assisted at the scene by Hull Ambulance and Hull Fire Department.
