Sheldon, Iowa — Two Sheldon men face drug charges, and charges are pending for four teens after a drug search on Tuesday, June 16th, 2015.
About 8:40 AM Tuesday morning, the Sheldon Police Department reports that law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at 315 West 9th Street, 315 ½ West 9th Street, and 1502 East 9th Street, all in Sheldon.
Officers report that they arrested 24-year-old Jakob Denzell Gamboa on an arrest warrant for Distribution of Marijuana and Gatherings where Drugs are Distributed. Additionally, a search of his home of 315 West 9th Street resulted another charge of Possession of Marijuana with the intent to Deliver.
Officers say they also arrested 48-year-old Jake Charles Scott on an arrest warrant for Distribution of Marijuana and Gatherings where Drugs are Distributed. Additionally, a search of his home at 315 ½ West 9th Street resulted in another charge of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana.
Police say additional charges will be filed on four juveniles aged 13, 14, 15, and 16 at a future date for Possessing marijuana at 1502 East 9th Street in Sheldon, Iowa.
Both Gamboa and Scott were transported to the O’Brien County Jail.
Police say the investigation continues, with additional charges being possible.
Authorities say the investigation into illegal drug activity by agents with the Iowa Division of Narcotics and members of the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force resulted in the warrant being issued. The warrant was executed by members of the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force which included officers from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, the Estherville Police Department, and the Sheldon Police Department. Also assisting were agents with the Iowa Division of Narcotics and Troopers with the Iowa State Patrol.
