Orange City, Iowa — On Wednesday of this week (October 12th) the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men, in separate incidents, for Identity Theft and Forgery.
The first arrest happened shortly after 2:30 Wednesday morning, when a Sioux County Deputy made a traffic stop on 400th Street, east of Sioux Center. Deputies say the driver, 23-year old Cirilo Gomez‐Pablo, of Orange City, allegedly provided a false Oklahoma identification card to the deputy. Upon further investigation it was reportedly discovered that Gomez‐Pablo used another person’s identity to gain employment
at Premium Pet Health in Orange City.
Authorities say Gomez‐Pablo was arrested for forgery, identity theft, providing false information, falsifying an identification card and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Forgery and Identity Theft are felonies, while the other charges are misdemeanors.
In the second incident, officials report that they received a report from a resident of Michigan that their identity was being used illegally. Deputies say that, upon further investigation, they discovered 39-year old Jose Garcia, of Worthington, was using the victim’s identity to gain employment at Premium Iowa Pork in Hospers. Shortly before 2:30 Wednesday afternoon Garcia was arrested, and charged with Identity Theft and Forgery, both felonies.
