Two Taken To Hospital After Accident Near Paullina

Paullina, Iowa– A Waukee man and his passenger were taken to the hospital after an accident near Paullina on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 5:50 p.m., 28-year-old Kennedy Roesler of Primghar was driving a 2013 Ram pickup southbound on Silver Avenue, three miles south and three east of Paullina. They tell us that 55-year-old James Rehder of Waukee was eastbound on 500th Street in a 2024 Hyundai.

The report says that Roesler failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign on Silver Avenue and the two vehicles collided in the intersection. 

The Sutherland Ambulance took Rehder and a passenger, 58-year-old Dana Rehder, to Cherokee Regional Medical Center Hospital.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident with Roesler’s Ram pickup sustaining $10,000 in damages, and Rehder’s Hyundai $40,000 in damages.

Roesler was charged with failure to yield from a stop sign.
