Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center man’s vehicle and a Minnesota man’s truck were damaged in an accident near Sioux Center on Monday, October 31st.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 12:56 pm on Monday, 68-year-old Bruce Hooyer of Sioux Center was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile 88 westbound on 380th Street. one-half mile west of Sioux Center. Nineteen-year-old Samuel Vogl of Eagle Grove, Minnesota was driving a 2008 Chevrolet 2500 Silverado pulling a livestock trailer westbound on 380th Street behind Hooyer. According to the report, Vogl attempted to pass Hooyer as Hooyer began turning left onto Grant Avenue and Vogl struck Hooyer in the intersection.
The Oldmobile received $1,000 damage. The Chevrolet received $300 damage.
No injuries were reported.
