Sibley, Iowa — Work continues on the upgrades at the Osceola County Jail in Sibley.

We had a chance to visit with Sheriff Kevin Wollmuth a while back, and he tells us the latest.

He says he walks through the construction area almost daily, and he is struck by how much different it’s going to be than the facility they are used to.

He tells us what’s going to happen with their current facilities.

In the space where the old jailhouse used to be, the sheriff says there will be a driveway and parking area for the courthouse. He says they’re looking forward to the completion of the facility.

At last report, the date and time of the open house had yet to be scheduled.
