Sioux City, Iowa (ExploreOkoboji) — A man who is in the US illegally, and who had been living in Rock Valley, has been sentenced to six years in prison for possessing child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa says 25-year-old Jesus Aranda-Martinez was sentenced today (Friday) in federal court in Sioux City. He pled guilty in February of this year to the charge.

Aranda-Martinez, who’s a resident of Mexico, admitted to receiving, distributing, and possessing child pornography from about April 2024 through July, 2025. Federal prosecutors say he possessed at least 62 images and 42 videos of child porn.

Aranda-Martinez remains in custody pending transport to a federal prison. We’re told he’ll be sent back to Mexico after serving his sentence.
