Sioux Falls Man Arrested in Rock Valley on Multiple Charges

Rock Valley, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — A Sioux Falls man is facing multiple charges following what authorities describe as an incident in Rock Valley that later led to damage at the Sioux County Jail.

According to court documents, 36-year-old Rikki Nytte Rolle was arrested Saturday, April 18th, near 13th Street and Main Street in Rock Valley.

A complaint filed by Rock Valley Police alleges officers responded to a report of an individual acting erratically near a local convenience store. Authorities say Rolle was seen yelling and behaving unusually in public, and officers noted a strong odor of alcohol. Rolle also allegedly admitted to drinking before the encounter.

Authorities say Rolle became agitated during the interaction and was taken into custody. During a search, officers say they found a small bag containing a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Rolle has been cited on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor.

Court records also show a separate charge of second‑degree criminal mischief involving public property, a Class D felony. According to a second complaint, the alleged damage occurred later while Rolle was being booked into the Sioux County Jail in Orange City.

Authorities allege Rolle struck a plexiglass barrier during the booking process, causing it to come out of its frame and break.

Rolle is being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

If convicted on all charges, he could face more than six years in prison.

No injuries were reported.
