Iowa (RI) — Iowa’s unemployment rate held at 3.2% in July — the third consecutive month at that level.

Iowa Workforce Development deputy director Georgia Van Gundy says the labor-force participation rate dipped 0.2%, driven by two factors.

She says several sectors continue to add jobs.

Manufacturing losses appear to be slowing.

Van Gundy says IWD has been working with employers to connect them with available talent, including statewide roundtables to identify workforce concerns. She says unemployment claims remain low.

Van Gundy says Iowa hasn’t seen large job increases, but continues to steadily add jobs month by month.
