Iowa City, Iowa (RI) — Iowa junior Reece Vander Zee says the wide receiver group will take major steps next season.

The former Central Lyon-George Little Rock standout has started 16 games across his first two years in Iowa City. Despite missing the first four games due to injury this past season, Vander Zee finished fourth on the team in receptions and also had a pair of touchdowns.

Vander Zee says he has been focused on areas he wants to improve during summer drills.

Vander Zee has shown the ability to make tough catches in traffic, and he says that trait gives him a lot of confidence.

The Hawkeyes open next season at home on September 5th against Northern Illinois.
