Hawarden, Iowa — A motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon near Hawarden injured a Rock Valley teen.
The Iowa State Patrol says 55-year-old Jamie Kelsheimer of Windom, Minnesota was operating a 2011 Kawasaki when he swerved to avoid some sand and gravel while attempting to negotiate a curve. Troopers say Kelsheimer then lost control of the motorcycle, which flipped, ejecting Kelsheimer and a passenger, a 17-year-old male.
The teen was taken to the Hawarden hospital. Kelsheimer apparently wasn’t hurt.
They say the mishap took place shortly before 3:30 p.m.
