Larchwood, Iowa (KUOO) — The city of Larchwood has been awarded a $1 million Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) Grant to help fund the construction of a new community center.
The planned facility will be just under 19,000 square feet and fully handicap-accessible. It will include space for recreation, youth programs, tournaments, craft fairs, and other community events. Amenities will feature a multi-use gymnasium, walking track, fitness and aerobics rooms, a kitchen, and a community room.
The total project cost is slightly more than $4.1 million.
