(Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa City -- KIWA Staff Photo)Iowa City, Iowa (RI) — The Iowa men’s basketball team has released its nonconference schedule for next season, a slate that features 11 games within the state of Iowa.
The Hawkeyes open the season November 3rd at home against Lipscomb, and their lone road game comes November 20th at Xavier.
That’s redshirt sophomore forward Cooper Koch, who averaged nearly eight points per game and shot better than 40% from three as a freshman. Koch played his best basketball down the stretch as Iowa made a run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Iowa coach Ben McCollum says Koch emerged as a leader in the weight room during summer workouts.
Next season’s schedule includes games against Creighton and Alabama in Des Moines, as well as a game in Sioux City against Virginia Tech.
