Minnesota Man Runs Afoul Of The Law In Lyon County

Larchwood, Iowa — A Luverne, Minnesota man faces a felony charge after his arrest late Friday night north of Larchwood.

Court records indicate that shortly before midnight Friday night, a Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy performed a traffic stop of an ATV on 130th Street near Chestnut Avenue, about a mile north of Larchwood.

Authorities say the driver of the ATV, 30-year-old Aaron Berghorst of Luverne, allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol. Deputies say Berghorst agreed to perform a variety of standard field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed. Berghorst also reportedly agreed to a breathalyzer test, which allegedly showed his blood alcohol content to be well above the legal limit.

Berghorst was placed under arrest for 3rd Offense Operating While Intoxicated, which is a Class D Felony, and taken to the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids.
